VIRGO NEW MOON #1
A return to sacredness. The origins of "the Virgin."
2025 NEW MOONS // AUGUST 22nd - 25th
Greetings friends,
I find it so comical that I’m writing to you about this Virgo new moon—Virgo being the sign of bodily wellness—with a migraine and a stomach bug. Oh, the irony. Aside from my passing ailments, this new moon is one worthy of our attention, as it is our informal gateway into eclipse season. It is also occurring at 0º, which is the “first breath” of each sign, meaning that is where we encounter the most concentrated and simple expression of the archetype. This Virgo season, considering it’s hosting the entirety of eclipse season and two Virgo new moons (the second one being our solar eclipse), will be highly transformational and healing, and that process starts with this new moon. That’s not to say it will be seamless and easy… if there is one thing I’ve learned this past year about healing, it’s that. I’m actually going to quote a poem I wrote a few years ago from my (now not so secret) secret Google Doc to encapsulate what some of this Virgo season may entail…
…so while I break my bones to reset them
and do my best to forget them
I try to never regret when
I fell hopelessly in love
with “best intentions”
and “imperfections”
that really just rusted me over
and plucked a leaf from my four-leaf cloverbut I was just a daughter
born to believe the best…
This Virgo season is about intentionally breaking the bone so that it can finally heal properly. Think of how many proverbial bones have been broken against your will that you unknowingly set improperly. They healed, but perhaps crookedly, and despite them being “stable,” they still cause you pain. Virgo, I have found, is a highly misunderstood archetype. Being a double-bodied sign—mutable—it can wear many hats and appear quite different to each individual, depending on how they are perceiving it. Virgo is symbolized by the virgin, but as you will read below, not the virgin that we have come to know through patriarchal and religious control. Virgo’s karmic debt is judgment, but its dharmic invitation is discernment. Virgo symbolizes the physical vessel that houses the soul and all of the limitations that accompany it, meaning that it also governs survival. But it is along the Pisces-Virgo axis, as we will likely become better acquainted with over the course of this Virgo season, that we learn to transcend survival and start living.
This new moon, happening at the “first breath” of Virgo, may illuminate the bone that needs to be broken once again, the decaying tissue that needs to be cut away, the infection that must be removed, even though the removal of it may be painful.
Think back to March of this year. That was when we had our previous eclipse season, and it’s also when we were in the midst of our Venus and Mercury retrogrades, both of which began in Aries and regressed into Pisces. That eclipse season was emphasizing the importance of us redistributing our power and control into more productive directions. We perhaps found ourselves trying to overpower things that were not ours to manage, while simultaneously neglecting responsibilities that, if we gave them more attention, could help create more harmony in our lives and lessen our desire to control those matters that were ultimately beyond our grasp. Now, as we are re-immersed in the transformative whirlpool of eclipse energy, we’re once again invited to identify how we can more consciously engage in the themes of action and surrender, tension and release, meticulous curation, and a go-with-the-flow softening to support our movement into a more refined understanding of what it means to be well, be seen, be supported, and, most importantly, be whole.
THE BIG PICTURE
Considering this new moon forms at 0º Virgo, which echoes the essence of the Fool in tarot (0º, not just 0º Virgo), I would like to take you back to the origin place of Virgo’s symbol, the Virgin.
Virgo is often linked to the Greek goddesses Astraea, Demeter, and Persephone, all of whom it is connected to for different but interconnected reasons. Astraea is the goddess of purity, justice, and innocence and was the last goddess to flee the Earth for Olympus. It is said that upon her departure, the earth and its inhabitants became susceptible to injury, illness, and exhaustion, all of which are qualities that Virgo is associated with and governs. Demeter is the goddess of the harvest and seasons. “The harvest” referring to the raw materials of the earth, the products of the earth in their “virgin” form—unprocessed, raw. Demeter guides us through the transitions of the earth’s seasons, just as Virgo ushers us out of summer and into autumn (or in the southern hemisphere, from winter to spring). And Persephone, Demeter’s daughter, is one of the few beings who can go to and return from the underworld. Persephone “dies” and is “reborn” with the changing of the seasons, specifically from winter to spring and summer to autumn, as Virgo (Demeter) ushers us through. Considering Mercury is the ruler of Virgo—Mercury, the Messenger planet, governing thresholds—Persephone fits this symbol even better, as she is one of the few beings who can travel between worlds. Persephone and her relationship to Hades also speak to the virgin aspects of ourselves and how they are altered when we encounter those hungry for power and in pursuit of possessing our innocence (Hades). This is just a brief summary of these mythological discussions in terms of their relationship to Virgo; I could go much deeper, but for the sake of this conversation, I’m keeping it rudimentary.
We also see virgin mothers in many different religious narratives, who bore messiahs, gods, or saviors. They were seemingly impregnated by a divine force—perhaps the spirit of God. The Greek word “parthenos” roughly translates to virgin, although it is less associated with sexuality—this is where we get the word “parthenogenesis,” which is asexual reproduction, the development of new life without fertilization. The Virgin Mary birthed Jesus. Rhea Silvia birthed Romulus and Remus, the founders of Rome. Isis gave birth to Horus. These are just a few examples.
Additionally, there are many other “Virgin Goddesses” across cultures, all of whom are harkened as strong, independent women, and all of whom were figures I aspired to be like as a child (lol). Some of the better-known Virgin Goddesses are the Greek goddesses Artemis, Athena, and Hestia. These figures were not associated with qualities that we typically tie to virginity—naïveté, blind innocence, and childlike ignorance. They were respected for their strength, intellect, power, and autonomy. So why are they virginal?
Before the influence of patriarchal narratives, religious influence, and systems of control, exploitation, and power, “virgin” meant something very different than how we generally define it today. Virginity was something that was not a mark of one’s desirability or value; it was a descriptor of a woman’s relationship to herself. Yet, through influences of control, the word “virginity,” like many other things, has been distorted into something that it is not and has been repackaged to fit a misogynist agenda. Before these systems took hold and before virginity became weaponized to shame and control women, to be a virgin was to be a woman belonging to herself, untethered, autonomous, and independent. To be a virgin was to be unconnected to any man. Virgins were not sexually chaste; they were sexually independent, meaning that their sexual essence was not owned by or intended to be consumed by men. It was a magic, a force, a power that they communed with as a way to elevate their consciousness and self-understanding.
The virgin was not a symbol of purity and goodness as it has been defined by the men who wish to possess, consume, and capitalize on it. The virgins were sexually sovereign beings who utilized their sexual energy as a way to commune with God and access higher streams of consciousness—their “purity” was not to be gifted to or saved for a future husband; it was maintained to be utilized for the bearer’s spiritual practice. Men’s hunger for power, control, ownership, and domination over the magic that women access through their sexual essence, their virginity, is the very thing that obliterates the thing they wish to claim. Virginity is not something that you have one moment and then do not have the next. Virginity is a sovereignty over one’s spirit and all that creates and supports it, which significantly includes one’s sexual essence but is not exclusive to sexuality only. Virginity, through this definition, is a way of life; it is something to embody, it is a practice, and it is something that one chooses to be. It is from the thought that something has been taken that virginity ceases to exist. But it is also the intention of taking and consuming that virginity is attempted to be killed. And this is why the virgins so steadfastly protected their sexual nature.
Occasionally, the virgins would grant others access to this sacred aspect of themselves, to those whom they deemed worthy and ready. But those who were ready to engage with the virgins had no intention of consuming, dominating, or owning. In fact, they were there because they were interested in the exact opposite. They were not there for their own passing, primitive pleasure. Such men entered these spaces with the virgins with the knowledge that they were being given immense privilege and were guests who could be ejected from that place of sacredness just as quickly as they had been invited in. These individuals went to the virgins to lose themselves, or—to continue in this religious imagery—dissolve their enslavement to the “hunger of the flesh.” These men would come to the virgins to symbolically transcend their physical vessel so they might access higher wisdom through spiritual means. Some have said that the virgins were priestesses who used their sexual energy, among other private practices, to guide others closer to God. Virgo is the servant, but not one who is enslaved by another person, forced to labor against their will. Virgo is the servant who serves as an act of devotion to the practice, as an act of celebration of the work they feel called to accomplish.
The Virgins harnessed their sexual energy and honed it into a divination tool. And by inviting those they deemed ready and worthy into their sexual aura (and sometimes by literally engaging in sex with others), they served a mission to help others gain access to the higher consciousness that also existed within them. Men would come to the virgins to pray (seek God) in the Virgin’s temple, and that may apply literally or metaphorically. The virgins viewed the body as the temple they prayed within, communing with the consciousness of God (their souls), which granted them life. Masturbation, creative movement, and artistic expression—all of these practices were ways that they could “pray” within their temple. To physically invite another individual into their body was to grant them access to their personal altar, which is why their sexual encounters with men were so specifically and intentionally approached. But the sexual encounters they did have with men were not to satisfy a bodily hunger; they were to educate the psyche and ignite the soul—they were to awaken god within them. The virgins were so deeply attuned to the universal breath of life that animates all of us that they were able to curate experiences that allowed others to encounter spiritual awakening or shifts in consciousness simply by interfacing with the aspects of themselves that made them “virgins.”
Despite the difference in context that surrounds them, there is still an element of morality infused into the rules placed around sexual engagement in both expressions of virginity, that of the religious definition and that of the more ancient definition. Regardless of which definition one lives by, restriction and discipline are still present. The difference, though, is in the intention—who the restriction is in service to. Through a religious lens, the self-control of one’s sexuality (specifically for women) is in service to an image of purity or untaintedness so that they might gift their untouched body to a husband of the future. Their restriction is in service to a man. There is an element of social standing as well, although that may not be heavily discussed in the church; maintaining one’s purity maintains one’s desirability and virtue. Religious virginity is disempowering; it’s enslavement to a master. Through the lens of virginity, as defined by what I have been sharing with you, the restriction is in service to the self. It is an act of devotion to one’s “god essence” within. This form of virginity is a devotion to one’s soul—it is a practice of spiritual mastery.
Now, how does this tie into the new moon and Virgo season as a whole? This moon intends to remind each of us that virginity belongs to everyone and invites us to ponder how we might more clearly define the intentions behind our actions, choices, and habits. It invites us to, like the Virgins, make each movement an act of devotion to the god-essence within your temple, the soul that occupies your body. How is it asking you to show up?
Considering the harsh aspects this new moon forms to the outer planets and Saturn, creating a square to Uranus and quincunxes to Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto, there is an invitation in this moon for us to restructure the language used to describe our practices, rituals, and encounters with the material realm. There’s an invitation for us to restructure the way we define words, like “virginity,” that may have been warped to disempower and imprison us in socially constructed ways of living and operating. Language holds power. The way in which you define something can radically influence the way that you interface with the thing or concept that the word represents. This is why I tend to ramble on for so long at times, and it’s also why I am very intentional with my word choice. The words we choose must be offered consideration, as the way in which we define our language shapes the way we engage in everything. In the essence of this moon and its references to virginity, independence, sacredness, and wholeness, this may be a valuable time for you to ponder what aspects of your life have had their virginity “taken” from them. What has been stripped of its sacredness and has been made into something consumable? What was once pure and is now tarnished by exploitative structures that have sought to control it? How have you perhaps been the exploitative structure? What have you stripped the magic from in an attempt to control the way it expresses? This may show up in your experience in a very noticeable way, but there may also be more nuanced experiences that this conceptually points to, so I encourage you to meditate on this for a moment.
Whether this applies to intimacy, work, creativity, self-care, practice, or something else entirely, this new moon invites you to renew your relationship with it so that you might start anew and return to a place of self-ownership. It urges you to recenter on the virginal structure of what you intended when you began the thing. How often do we start creative projects because we were inspired but find ourselves becoming rigidly meticulous, critical, and insatiably dissatisfied later down the road? When in these spaces, we have forgotten the initial motive in creating—to commune with the self, to expend the spirit, to, in the essence of the Virgin Mother, birth something into the world that is a symbol of our sacred union with God. And yet, we restrict, and refine, and rewrite in the hopes we will prove our goodness and value to the world, and in our doing so, we unknowingly allow our spiritual womb to be penetrated and infected by the hand of the Man.
This is a moon for the reclamation of all that has lost its sense of sacredness. It’s a time to breathe magic back into things that have become lifeless and mechanical. To do so, we may encounter pain or discomfort, as returning to a more organic state requires us to notice just how synthetic we’ve become. And after bringing our awareness to this, we must devote ourselves to the curation process of something that is less comfortable, simply because it is less known. But with time, the uncomfortable becomes comfortable. This is a moon that reminds us of the rewards that only come with consistency, but also of the pain that results from consistency. The first day of a new practice is often not the hardest; it’s the fourth or the fifth or further along when the practice has lost its charm and newness. But, strangely, the pain will often only dissipate with consistency. Thus, we must press on. However, this pain can be softened when we alter our perspective and redefine our language, which is why we’re being reminded of the “Virgin” that exists in each of us, regardless of sex, gender, or state of being. Anything can be a holy practice if you approach it with the choice for it to be so. That said, this moon asks us to recenter ourselves on our pleasure, our desires, our ambitions, and our intentions. It asks us to hold steadfast to what organically emanates from us, rather than continuing to enslave ourselves to anything we have turned into a god that we must submit to and serve.
In the Virgoan, virginal essence, you are god, and the temple that houses god, and the devoted, humble servant that tends to the altar and kneels before it in prayer. You become “impregnated” with holiness (a messiah, if you will) when you ~have sex with God~ (ahem, co-create with the universe/act on inspiration/allow your spirit—GOD—to move through you). I may sound like I’m stretching, but this is an intricacy of the archetype of Virgo that I often get mesmerized by and totally lost in. In Christian and other religious language, we are made to believe that God, Christ, holiness, and WHOLENESS are outside of us and are something we must change ourselves to become unified with. But this is the illusion. We are in the womb of the universe always, and likewise, the universe exists in each of our proverbial wombs, awaiting to be born into a multitude of different vessels that allow the collective Spirit to exist in greater diversity and complexity.
This new moon begs you to remember that the tools are in your hands right now. Tune out the noise of the priest, prophet, or pastor—maybe that’s your boss, a societal standard, a “friend,” the internet, or someone else—and return to your sacred practice. Return to ritual. Return to untarnished expression. In doing so, you may discover an ancient, esoteric knowing that will reignite a passion for something that has grown dull. I hope you can find the magic in the mundane this Virgo season.
Happy new moon.
xx, Aspen

1:1 TABOO SESSION (18+) — UTILIZING THE DARKNESS AS A VEHICLE INTO THE LIGHT
On the theme of virginity, I’ve found that reclaiming this concept and returning to its ancient origins has been especially expansive and healing in my personal sexual embodiment practice. The influence that religion had on my relationship with sexuality deeply impacted my ability to find safety and confidence in occupying my body, and that only grew more complicated after experiencing sexual assault. I “lost my virginity” to rape, and considering the Christian narratives that I was still detangling myself from in the aftermath of that experience, I encountered some very complex feelings that caused me to develop a very dysfunctional relationship with sexual expression, sensuality, seduction, and other related matters. However, in the past couple of years, I have dedicated a great deal of time and energy to reclaiming these aspects of myself by connecting the threads that tie together virginity, the “devil woman,” darkness, and innocence, despite their seemingly opposing nature. This process has been heavily supported through the examination of my birth chart, and it is through this 1:1 session that I intend to help you in navigating your healing journey.
Over the past several years, as I have navigated my personal development journey, I’ve been fascinated by the taboo elements of the birth chart—the topics we tend to shy away from because of their embarrassing, awkward, dark, or uncomfortable nature. I’ve rigorously examined the “evilness” within my chart, the pieces that are representative of the parts of myself I’ve been conditioned to suppress, silence, and destroy because they are not aligned with societal expectations and traditional definitions of “goodness.” I used to shy away from these parts, as I thought that indulging them would make me wicked and dark myself. But through this examination process, I have experimentally leaned into those dark qualities, and what I’ve discovered has been monumentally transformative.
When I started to embrace and embody the parts of myself that I used to reject, I accessed a new type of power. People treated me with more respect; men treated me with more respect. I started to get what I wanted with much less effort. I began interfacing with money differently, and it responded differently as well. Now, when I walk into rooms, my presence is noticed and honored without me having to say a thing.
This reading is blunt. It’s raw. It’s uncomfortable. We will talk about seduction, sex, the ugly truth, the shadow self, sabotage, deception, the morally grey, and otherwise frowned-upon topics. This reading is not for everyone, as it requires you to show up with a level of transparency that we are not often familiar with. But if you want to actually tap into your dark feminine, if you’re ready to break some rules to make faster progress, if you’re willing to forget your usual definitions of “good” and “bad” in the name of accelerating yourself into a more magnetic frequency, and are okay with making a few enemies along the way, then this reading is for you.
Whether you want to talk about your sex life, healing journey, financial desires, body image, seductive archetype, or ancestral patterns, anything is on the table. The only thing I won’t discuss is your or someone else’s death.
Darkness in the hands of heart-centered people has no other choice but to be reengineered to serve light. You keeping yourself small and rejecting fame, money, power, or whatever else you may secretly desire (or simply know you are meant to acquire)…it isn’t serving anyone. This reading is intended to provide you with some tools to integrate parts of yourself that you’ve rejected so that you can dissolve resistance and finally step into your center stage.

ARIES, sometimes the work that must be done is not the most exciting, but that does not mean it should be shrugged off for later. This moon may entail you drawing up a more realistic approach to your material efforts and asking yourself the hard but necessary questions: where have you let yourself off the hook? How are you to blame for the disappointments you’re facing? There may be a new lifestyle that you are implementing or a new skill you are setting out to master through this moon, but it will likely require you to invest daily effort to make it into something substantial and real. This may be a valuable time to examine how you have acted as if you are exempt from the rules so you can observe how that mentality has perhaps harmed you, even if you previously thought it was a sign of power or strength. This is not said to discourage you or make you feel confined by a box, but this is a reminder that some rules are ~unoutsmartable~—you cannot keep the sun from rising, time from passing, or the rain from coming. Consider how being a “good student” may actually be an asset to you at this time; how intentionally playing by the rules for a period may help you play and win the long game. This moon may be most valuable to you when you are able to implement a healthy level of restriction in your life so that you can be more conscious of where your finite resources are going; that way, you might be able to use them more intentionally.
TAURUS, this moon asks you to be radically self-aware of how you are showing up in the world so that you can examine how you are perhaps trying to calculate the best way to get others to accept you. This may apply to your self-expression in a social or romantic sense. Perhaps you have tried to win others’ approval or celebration by being overly restrictive and critical of yourself, feeling as if you have to prove your value or proficiency. This moon points out that, while the intention is pure, you may be going about getting what you desire by creating unnecessary work for yourself. A fear of making the “wrong choice” has perhaps led you to become overly cautious in the way that you navigate social, romantic, and professional spaces. There may be some harsh truths that you have to address about yourself through this moon that you have turned a blind eye to due to a fear of failure or imperfection. But you may find that in facing and accepting them, you are able to dissolve obstacles that have felt difficult to overcome. You’re being asked to evolve your value systems at this time so that you can do what must be done to move you in a more fulfilling direction. Trying to maintain being “right” through this moon may not be as favorable to you as you think it is; this is an important time to own up to any shortcomings and accept how you have perhaps taken on too many responsibilities in an attempt to win others’ admiration or respect. This moon reminds you that you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do and asks you to re-evaluate what truly lights you up and motivates you to progress toward your goals.
GEMINI, this moon may be initiating a significant new beginning in the foundational structures of your lifestyle, home, or belief systems. You may be embarking on a new venture that puts you out of your comfort zone, despite this new moon signaling a beginning in the home or foundational aspects of life. This moon may symbolize a challenging journey completed or a challenging journey about to be begun; regardless of which is most applicable to you, the sacrifice and effort were or are likely very worth it to you. There is an invitation from this moon for you to consider what alterations in your basic life structures or home life might be necessary to make in order for you to actualize larger goals that may only be a concept or idea right now. The new matters that you are hoping to pursue may require you to reconfigure the foundations of your life physically, mentally, and emotionally. What changes must you make to accommodate the dreams that sit on your horizon? This moon invites you to consider what small changes may have a big influence on your ability to actualize your ambitions. Sometimes there are practices that we get into the habit of doing, and we don’t realize how influential they are on the rest of the day’s fluidity. Laying an outfit out for the following day, never leaving a dirty dish in the sink, keeping a running list of the groceries you need—these small things are the grease that keeps the machine of your life running. This moon invites you to consider what microscopic habits, practices, or shifts you might introduce into the basic functions in your life to help the bigger things move more fluidly.
CANCER, this moon invites you to alleviate your perception of your burdens by softening your gaze on the horizon ahead of you and directing more of your attention to the now. You may feel a great deal of pressure to transform multiple elements of your life or to take bigger strides than you are truly capable of taking at this time, so this moon reminds you to take a deep breath and remember that all lasting change takes time and is built by many small changes stacked together. That said, this moon asks you, “What changes today? What can you do right now? How can you use your efforts in this moment?” You may be starting a new habit or practice under this new moon, and regardless of what it is, this moon encourages you to find a sacredness in the learning process, no matter how messy it may initially look. There may be opportunities to learn that will be subtly presented to you through this new moon; they may not appear flashy or loud, but they may be small things that you can start integrating into your lifestyle functions and habitual practices that will benefit you the longer they are maintained. There may, more specifically, be an invitation for you to implement some type of spiritual practice into your daily life to help you more intentionally connect with your higher self or spiritual consciousness. This moon asks you to break out of the trance that we can sometimes fall into when we’re floating through life, doing the same patterns day in and day out. This may be an important time for you to disrupt the patterns that have caused your daily life to feel stale by sprinkling a bit more magic into your day, and this may be done simply by shifting your mindset.
LEO, this moon may highlight the pressure that you feel from your desires for the future and perhaps partners or close friends to depart a comfort zone that has grown stale. This moon may invite you to implement a bit more ingenuity into the way that you go about creating security around you; perhaps you will be challenged to consider what you truly value versus what your actions and behaviors have demonstrated you’ve placed value on. You may be recognizing through this moon that your advancement toward bigger dreams and ambitions has perhaps been restricted by your unwillingness to depart your comfort zone. This moon may have you starting to craft a plan to change your financial situation or start acting more in alignment with what your true values are. This may be initiated by a change in your social world, communities, or personal relationships; there may be invitations from other people for you to see a bigger picture than you can presently envision. This may be a moon that will usher you into a new type of personal discipline, one that is driven to confront fear so that you can do the work that may be harder or more uncomfortable to do but will likely be what drives you into more expansive spaces, which will make you feel more nourished by your life and daily experiences. Sometimes, honoring what you value through action does not come naturally, but this is an important time for your actions to speak for you. What do you want your efforts to say?
VIRGO, this new moon guides you into a Virgo season that will likely feel quite different from the rest, considering it will host the entirety of eclipse season. This season will be about bringing conscious awareness to old patterns that you have perpetuated because of pride, ego, or fear of confronting the self, but it will also be about planting new seeds into your identity structures that are more aligned with your authentic self—your soul’s truth. There may be a new practice, ritual, or habit that you are implementing under this moon’s influence, which will initially feel uncomfortable, even if you know it is ultimately good for you. It may be time for you to change your approach to self-development and the progression of personal goals; you may be reminded through this moon that sometimes radical change requires radical change. What patterns have repeated, and how have you perpetuated them? Perhaps this is an important time for you to take control of your life by jumping into an uncomfortable space that will force you to do things differently. This moon is about asking yourself what you truly want and making the hard calls to reorient yourself in a more cohesive direction that aligns with your answers. If you do not choose change for yourself, you may find yourself forced to change by external events. It will be important for you to broaden your perspective so that you can see the bigger picture. Despite the discomfort that may accompany this moon, you may find that showing up to do the work that is asked of you will pay off prominently later down the road.
LIBRA, this new moon ushers you into a Virgo season that may feel quite up in the air; you may find that the material aspect of your life is going through some reconstruction, which perhaps is causing your spirit to feel as if it’s drifting between worlds. It will be important for you to remember, through this new moon and astrological season, that not all “progress” is visible, but just because it is not physically noticeable does not mean it is less valuable or should not be celebrated. This moon might have you implementing new habits that are meant to support your spiritual practices or mental health; you may be setting up new rituals or life structures that will feel a bit exhaustive or tiring to set up, but will be ultimately worth it. There may be several different “trust the process” experiences through this moon that will require you to shift your attention away from the material facts that you see and instead tune into the spiritual wisdom that may not have any evidence to support it. There may be a reconfiguration in your priorities or investments at this time; this may involve your approach to relationships and connection with others. Perhaps this moon will be about catching how your subconscious perpetuates patterns that do not align with the progress you are trying to make. You may find that this moon is best collaborated with by replacing old coping mechanisms, habits, or self-soothing practices with things that you are more intentionally and consciously choosing.
SCORPIO, this is an important moon for you to rely upon the village that either literally or proverbially surrounds you. You may find that this is a valuable time for you to delegate responsibilities to other trusted parties so that you can accelerate your goals or work-related matters in more progressive directions. You may be asked to relinquish control over something that you would otherwise maintain authority over, and you may feel inspired to do this so you can attend to more creative or pleasure-oriented matters. This moon may feel contradictory to you; you may find that while you’ve previously made progress in your life by doing all of the work personally, this moon shows you that more work can be accomplished, and therefore more progress can be made in a shorter timeframe, when you disperse your responsibilities to others and act more as an overseer. Perhaps you have not felt comfortable delegating in the past due to fear that the job will not be done properly. This moon encourages you to utilize the skill sets of those you are connected with, as well as the skill sets of those that they are connected with; your doing so may set into motion a new system for work to be accomplished in your life that may relieve you of some responsibilities without losing the momentum you’ve built. This moon asks you to consider what the technicalities of your dreams are, so you might organize what tasks are yours to accomplish and which are better to be contracted out.
SAGITTARIUS, this new moon may stop you in your tracks; you might find that your long-term plans are shifted in some way because of an opportunity for commitment or an invitation to change your immediate plans to pursue something that feels more authentically aligned with how you presently feel. This moon may teach you a new skillset that will become an asset to you later on, or you may find that you will take on a temporary responsibility, which might inspire a new desire for the future. The discomfort you may encounter in this moon is in your perception of what you “should” be doing; you might be shown through this moon that nothing truly is set in stone, even though we may make plans around things that feel immovable or unchangeable. While there may be feelings of instability through this moon, there’s an invitation for you to not cling too tightly to what you had initially planned, as this Virgo season may be one for “spiritual course correction.” Metaphorically speaking, this moon invites you to stop relying on your GPS for navigation and instead asks you to move based on feeling. Instead of trying to identify through analysis where you’re “supposed” to be, ask yourself what feels best for you in this moment and where you feel called to be. You may find that your discomfort in trusting yourself stems from your fear of other people’s judgment or misunderstanding, especially if your decisions create tension between you and other parties. Don’t overcomplicate your actions at this time; trust your instinct.
CAPRICORN, this new moon may present you with a new opportunity to expand your skillset or develop a new point of view by being invited into proverbially bigger rooms. This is an important time to embrace the role of the student. There may be new skills or mindsets that you are learning about from other people, and while you may tend to find more confidence and comfort in roles of leadership, roles in which you are the teacher, you may find it beneficial to shift your mindset to one of absorption rather than assertion. This is a valuable time for you to consider how you might benefit from learning from others in skills both new to you and those that you’d consider yourself masterful in. You may be integrating previous skills that you’ve mastered into an unfamiliar learning environment, and this moon reminds you that while this may allow you to accelerate your progress in your new endeavors, it should not lead you to assume that you are above returning to the basics of that skill. Whatever you are learning about—whether this is a functional, work-related skill or one that pertains to emotional connection and human relationships—you may find that this is ushering you into a new chapter of life that is laying a foundation for a new way of life to be created. The things that you are developing, especially those that are in their rudimentary stages, may lead you into a more stabilized place, emotionally and financially, later down the road. Be observant of the opportunities for advancement that may be available to you when you sink into a more humility-oriented mindset.
AQUARIUS, this Virgo season will likely be highly transformational for you, and considering the double new moons we will encounter in Virgo this season, you may find that this new moon symbolizes the decision to change—your conscious submission into the “death” process so that you can be reborn. This moon may have you simplifying your life in some way or facing aspects of your identity that you would rather cast aside but have become aware need to be integrated if you wish to break free from repetitive patterns. These repetitive patterns may revolve around perfectionism or labor, or perhaps a perpetual survival mentality that you have struggled to break free from. You may be growing tired of feeling like you’re always running on empty. This moon may be pointing out a sense of aloneness that you feel in the healing that you wish to accomplish. This is like the realization that if you wish to be more fit, you must change your eating and exercise habits; no one can make those changes for you. Similarly, this moon points out that while it may be frustrating or disappointing to realize, there may be matters that you have been waiting for others to fix for you, or you have been waiting for some external force to “right” the “wrongs” in your life. It asks you to consciously participate in your upheaval process, as this may alleviate some of the discomfort of it. Perhaps this means choosing to embrace vulnerability in interpersonal connections or becoming more painfully truthful with yourself about how you are handling your money. This is an important time to make each choice intentional, especially those that involve energetic, sexual, financial, or emotional exchange.
PISCES, this Virgo season will likely illuminate the patterns and habits in your close relationships and commitments that both energize and exhaust you, and by the end of this season, you may have a much better understanding of how you’d like to structure these exchanges to support you better. This moon may be an invitation for you to draw awareness to the things that feel like they’ll always be there, whether that is referencing a literal thing or person, or a habit that you continue to perpetuate. This moon reminds you that even the things that we think are very permanent are not as permanent as we may perceive them to be. This moon may usher in new experiences in relationships or commitments that significantly shift the foundations upon which you stand when engaging with these matters. It may be important for you to audit the connections that are closest to you to ask yourself what they are contributing to your life, but not from a place of calculated assessment and criticism; instead, you’re asked to tune into the more spiritual element of your psyche. In a different direction, this moon invites you to consider what your relationship with work is like, asking you to define what it means to “work.” It invites you to shift your mindset from “work” and “obligation” to one that is rooted in sacred practice or ritual, and this applies to more things than just the work that you do professionally or in the home. This moon is an invitation for you to allow others to take some of the burdens from you, but it’s also an invitation for you to infuse more sacred movement into things that you may feel bound to. When you channel this essence into your commitments, see how they respond, and from there, you may gain clarity around any necessary alterations that need to be made.
