SAGITTARIUS FULL MOON
The preciousness of freedom and the courage to say yes.
2025 FULL MOONS // June 11th and 12th, 2025
Out of my ignorance, I’m keeping you imprisoned.
At some point, you have to stop and say, “Wait a minute, is this fair? Is this who I want to be? No, I want to be the free one. And in order to be the free one, I have to free everybody, don’t I? How can I be free and keep you down? If I keep you down, I have to be down there with you.”
- Dr. Maya Angelou
Greetings friends,
I have long awaited this full moon, and the optimism it is infusing my mind with is just affirming my anticipated excitement. I recently completed the first of what I can only assume will be a multitude of read-throughs of my new favorite book, and I think there will have to be some pretty serious contenders for it to be dethroned. It is one of the beautiful works of Paulo Coelho (the gentleman who wrote The Alchemist)—titled Eleven Minutes. The story follows a young woman who leaves home to find a sense of adventure and unintentionally falls into the world of sex work, which illuminates her understanding of the power of her femininity and chameleon-like ability to morph into whatever men want from her. However, as the story progresses, she uncovers how much she still has yet to understand about herself through matters that invite her to expound upon the concepts of love, pleasure, and autonomy, and how she has come to know them.
The reason I am even bringing this book up is because, upon meditating on this full moon’s chart, a few different quotes from it came to mind, and I want to share them with you to provide a picture of the higher perspective this lunation is offering us. This moon is the first full moon we’re experiencing with Jupiter in Cancer since July 2014. Considering the moon is the ruler of Cancer, we may find that the lunations that occur under Jupiter’s movement through the archetype of the Mother are going to contribute to this narrative around what true security and inner safety are—what safety needs to be curated within the inner world for us to confidently move into uncharted waters. We will undoubtedly be examining all of the nuances of nurturing and being nurtured, seeking security externally and creating it within.
This moon occurring in Sagittarius puts the moon and Jupiter in mutual reception, which is allowing for harmonious communication between the two bodies, despite Cancer and Sagittarius being signs that may have a hard time seeing eye-to-eye (they are what we call quincunx, signs in incompatible elements and not sharing modality). This clear communication between them is drawing our attention to the concept of growing, directing our awareness to our origin places, and honoring where we’ve come from, or perhaps observing the starting point that we’re presently at as we consider new ventures we’d like to pursue. We are simultaneously looking at the roots and the branches of our lives under this energy, recognizing how the branches can only reach as far as the roots run deep, which is perhaps providing us insight on how we can set ourselves up for a more fruitful season in the future by tending to the quality of the soil we’re planted in through more conscious cultivation.
I will expound upon this further down below and will sprinkle the quotes from Eleven Minutes throughout the remainder of this installment, and to anyone looking for a good read, I cannot recommend it enough.
Everything tells me that I am about to make a wrong decision, but making mistakes is just part of life. What does the world want of me? Does it want me to take no risks, to go back to where I came from because I didn’t have the courage to say “yes” to life?
- Paulo Coelho, Eleven Minutes
THE BIG PICTURE
This full moon might entail us finding revelations or discoveries in familiar things; perhaps we will be returning home in some capacity—this could look like us returning to a literal home, reminiscing on childhood, or reconnecting with someone familiar or family-like, or something else in this same vein. Sagittarius is the freedom seeker, both in body and spirit; it, being one of the double-bodied signs (the mutable signs), is symbolized by the centaur, the half horse, half man. The human half is closest to God, reaching up to the divine consciousness, hoping to be more like them. The human aspect of Sagittarius may seek God through consuming as many spiritual or philosophical perspectives as it can, in hopes that it may expand its mental domain and attain enlightenment. The horse half of Sagittarius represents the primal, animalistic, untamable quality of the human spirit—the craving for adventure, the desire to be unrestricted by circumstances or others’ influence. It is through this symbol that we examine the two primary modalities we may utilize as vehicles to make meaning of life, both of which contribute to the whole picture of enlightenment and spiritual completeness.
We may find that by over-indulging one half of the self—the beast or the mortal—we find ourselves on a constant search for more, which may ultimately lead us to overlook the truth we are hoping to acquire. Clinging too tightly to a concept of what the “destination” is may cause us to become more lost than we felt when we began the journey. We may overlook how the place we are presently occupying was once the oasis that seemed to perpetually sit on the horizon. This may translate over to both the tangible and intangible world. In the perpetual pursuit of knowledge, in our yearning to find the most groundbreaking concept or ideology, we may bypass the wisdom that is hidden in plain sight—the magic hidden in the ordinary, printed in the morning paper, etched into the pavement of the road to your elementary school bus stop, and scribbled into the diary of your twelve-year-old self. This is why Sagittarius is in need of Gemini’s sisterhood—you can get a better idea of Gemini through the new moon newsletter from a couple of weeks ago. (read it here)
Alternatively, in a more external expression of this, we might traverse the whole world in an attempt to become well-versed in what it means to know and understand how the universe functions, what it means to master the human experience, and to discover the meaning of life. We might wear stamps in our passports as a badge of honor, utilizing them as metrics of how well and richly we’ve lived. But there is a wisdom found in staying rooted in your hometown that no number of miles can lead you to. Neither is better than the other; they are simply different paths. Different vessels to hold the same creature—the creature that gnaws at the cage of our human form, the limitless soul yearning to be freed. I have been to a handful of foreign countries and have been immersed in their diverse cultures and traditions, and yet, some of my biggest breakthroughs and moments of self-realization have happened at home, in bed, while cuddling the stuffed animal I’ve had since I was a toddler.
This full moon, due to it being ruled by Jupiter in Cancer, which is sitting at 0º (the most concentrated point of an archetype’s essence), infuses new adventures and uncharted waters with a breath of nostalgia, which will likely trickle into the following months. We are perhaps finding ourselves being guided back to our origin stories as we consider how to expand into the unfamiliar. In Sagittarius’s humorous nature, there is a reminder in this lunation that we are likely overcomplicating present matters for ourselves by hanging onto narratives around how we think things “should” be. Perhaps the emotional body is feeling destabilized as we recognize that the story that is unfolding before us is not doing so in the way we envisioned, which is causing us to cling to the familiar symbols of security that have historically quieted the mind and soothed the nervous system. This moon invites us to return to childlike wonder so that we might release our grip from things that may provide us with the illusion of safety simply because of their familiarity.
This concept of perceived security may translate over to a menagerie of different experiences, depending on how this moon is activating our unique planetary configurations. But the central thing this is intending to guide us back to is this: the act of harnessing the beast is what desecrates the purity of its freedom, which is the very thing that captivated us in the first place. In an attempt to hold the magic of something so we can experience it forever, we strip from it the immaterial thing that makes it so enchanting—the fact that it is there and we get to witness it, and we had no part in its coming into being. It is the joy of not anticipating pleasure but being gifted it anyway. It is the miracle of being granted access to things that we are not, and never will be, entitled to. So many lovely things are destroyed because of a hunger to control their expression—to possess. So many birds have their wings clipped for the selfish enjoyment of their captors, and the captors still have the ignorance to ask why the birds have stopped singing and their feathers have grown dull. Many things are beautiful because they have no obligation to be there, and yet, they still choose to grace us with their presence. This is a precious gift we must remember.
I have found this theme resonating in so many different ways in my own life, one of which I will expound upon more personally in my next article. But think of all the things that are spoiled because of our hunger to claim them as our own, because of our desire for them to continue affirming our worthiness or deservingness of good things and pleasure and confidence and power. Consider what beautiful things you have unintentionally smothered because of your desire to have them forever—the flowers you have plucked from their beds because you wanted to know the weight of their loveliness, even if your doing so sentenced them to death. When sex becomes an obligation to affirm one another’s vanity or to pet one another’s ego, rather than a practice of being witnessed, its sanctity is defiled. Is it not more insulting to continue receiving others’ loyalty, or love, or devotion, because you or they are afraid of never finding it again, than it is to be thanked and set free? And when these things are maintained from this center of fear and attachment, can they even truthfully represent the titles we give them? When love is rooted in control, is it even love anymore?
No one loses anyone, because no one owns anyone. That is the true experience of freedom: having the most important thing in the world without owning it.
- Paulo Coelho, Eleven Minutes
This moon is about setting others free to be as they are, setting the story free to be what it is, and setting the future free to unfold as it will, and by doing so, you grant yourself freedom as well. You provide yourself with space to understand the matters that feel blurry. You open your heart to the many teachers of life who have been awaiting your enrollment in their classes. This moon may be revealing how our attachment to the blessings that we presently have and our unwillingness to release them when they have fulfilled their purpose is the face of a deep sense of distrust in ourselves and, perhaps equally, God. And this distrust has likely covertly manifested as false displays of confidence in the unknown, having us claim, “I will expand and let go if this outcome is promised…it’s promised, right?…Right?” Many of us may find that, in the confrontation of this release, we will, one, discover the origin stories of our internalized distrust—the moments that planted the idea in our heads that we cannot comfortably sit in the palm of God, nor can we trust ourselves to correctly translate the messages she shares with us. But two, we may notice a new adventure that is slowly presenting itself to us. Perhaps some of us have thought that this time is the conclusion of a journey we’ve been on for quite a while, when in reality, this is just the beginning.
The last thing I will share is a story from my many years as an equestrian. For those who are unfamiliar, riding a horse is no easy task; it is a test of courage, strength, precision, awareness, and intuition, all of which you have to be exercising simultaneously to channel into a non-verbal dialogue with a thousand-pound animal. Riding a horse for the first time can be equally scary as it is exhilarating.
The summer that I was sixteen was one of the most joyful summers of my life. I spent so many hours at the barn and was finally old enough to drive myself to and from places, which sometimes meant I would also go on riding adventures that were outside of the confines of the arena. Some of my favorite moments were when I would take my horse out to these big open fields, on a trail called Pipeline, and we would just go.
The majority of horses have four gaits—walk, trot, canter, and gallop. The first three are all controlled movements and are usually the only gaits observed and assessed in competitive matters. You only really see horses galloping at the racetrack, and the majority of horse people are not in that corner of the horse world. Cantering is the fastest that you typically go within most disciplines, and despite the speed and excitement, a comfortable rider will still feel very in control. The horse submits to your direction, and you still feel like the driver.
There were a few times when I was at Pipeline where I would proverbially shift into the passenger seat and let my horse go as fast as he wanted. It’s hard to describe because it’s such a nuanced experience, but there comes a point when you shift from cantering into galloping, and you can feel your horse’s mind return to their ancestral wildness—something in their soul comes alive. Suddenly, you no longer feel in control of what’s happening, and because you’ve allowed it, you have to breathe into it and relax. You have to let go. Even if you didn’t allow it, you must not panic. There’s an initial wave of fear that is almost always expected, but it quickly turns into elation when you feel like your souls are united and the wind is making your eyes tear up, and everything else goes quiet.
You have this moment where, psychically, you’re telling your horse, “Holy shit, we’re going so fast, and I feel like I couldn’t stop you even if I wanted to, and you could totally kill me right now, but you’re letting me be a passenger in this freedom you feel, you’re giving me an experience—an electrifying reminder of what it means to feel alive—that I would never be able to create on my own. You’re gifting me this privilege, and I feel so, so, so lucky to experience this. I feel so powerless and small, but so limitless and free all at the same time. Thank you for keeping me safe, thank you for showing me freedom, thank you for letting me be here with you.”
Those moments truly do draw you into the present like no other. Your feeling of aliveness rises with your awareness of how fleeting life is; it is in your proximity to injury or death that you realize just how alive you are. But trust is what opens the door for that feeling to be accessed. And the beautiful thing is that whenever I’d ask him to slow, he’d oblige—he trusted that my asking him to slow down was not an imprisonment of his freedom, just as I trusted that his exercising his power was not a promised early ending. In demonstrating that trust, we both risk losing the thing that is most precious to us; we let go of control and put our faith in the other to act in our best interest. Similarly, that is the dance we have with life.
Life is the animal you sit astride and must learn to surrender to. You must treat it with respect and honor its wild spirit, as attempts to overpower it may be the very thing that causes it to rebel against you and induce otherwise avoidable calamity. We cannot control a lot of things in life, but we can choose to trust that all of the threads are weaving together to create a beautiful tapestry, one whose completion is a precious gift to witness. And the animal is not just life; it is the people, experiences, dreams, and ambitions that we yearn to have more of always. We must honor their desire for freedom just as we expect them to honor ours, and it is in that mutual honoring that we become aware of life’s true meaning: to live, to be, to inspire, and to love without conditions or expectations. It is in the allowing of things to exist as they wish to be that the miraculousness of their purity is revealed. And what a treasure that is to be a part of, no matter how fleeting it may be.
Happy full moon.
xx, Aspen

GET THE TURNING POINT: A GUIDE TO SUMMER 2025’S ASTROLOGY
This summer is far different from many of the past summers we’ve navigated. We are shifting into an entirely different paradigm; the energetic frequency of our world is changing—can you feel it?
I have been working tirelessly to complete this astrological forecast for this summer. This is by far the most fulfilling project I have worked on, and I am so excited to now share it with you. This summer is going to be laying an entirely new groundwork for us to individually and collectively stand upon; it is the introduction to a new energetic blueprint that will shape the way we engage in partnership and community and participate in the curation of a better world for ourselves, our neighbors, our allies, and all of the people we may never meet but are still connected to in spirit.
I cannot express the significance of this summer enough. We have some major activations and aspects being formed by the outer planets and other collective influences (Saturn and Jupiter primarily), which is something we don’t see often. For two slower-moving planets to form a relationship with one another for an extended period of time is an exciting thing to witness, especially if the aspect in question is favorable in nature, like many of the aspects of this summer are. This summer will host some extremely important conversations with us as individuals, but also within our society, urging us to examine who we want to be and how we can go about creating sustainable change in the world so that we might create a better tomorrow for everyone. Understanding what is to come may be a valuable tool for healing, progress, development, and growth, which is why I’ve compiled these conversations into a singular offering so you might get the whole picture.
These conversations are coming from a grounded and holistic perspective, meaning that they’re not full of fanciful promises or exaggerated suggestions; the insights in this offering were intentionally curated to help you navigate real life from a conscious and surrendered perspective. While many of the transits this summer don’t suggest earth-shattering shifts in our material worlds, they are supporting a raw and irrevocably pivotal new beginning—the planting of a seed that will grow into a mighty tree.
This offering includes:
A 60-minute overview of the collective influences of the summer’s transits.
A breakdown of the aspects and formations that are setting the tone for individual and social advancement, including discussions on how to navigate this summer’s Mercury retrograde and eclipse season.
12 personalized videos, one for each sign, describing what this summer is inviting you to direct your attention to and how you might best navigate this energetic landscape.
A PDF outlining all of the important dates and their corresponding astrological events.
I trust that those who are meant to hear from me in this more curated container will know that it’s meant for them. There are some very honest conversations in this offering, which some might not be ready to receive, but I have set the intention that those who are will utilize these tools for their greatest good and best interest. If you are called to this offering, thank you for supporting my practice and for trusting in and valuing my interpretations. I hope you enjoy.

ARIES, you may be setting off on a new adventure as you redefine home in some way—this could be proverbial or literal. This may be a time in which you’re redefining some of your longstanding personal philosophies and beliefs to create space for you to implement new ones that are more independently imposed; you might be letting go of beliefs you’ve been taught to have and are opening yourself to different ideologies, perspectives, and ways of being. This may also symbolize a completion in a learning journey; perhaps you are celebrating a learning process that you’ve been moving through and are starting fresh in a new endeavor because of the things you’ve learned. It is okay to not know what lies ahead; trust your instincts and have faith that the tools you’ve developed will serve you well in unknown spaces. When you surrender to the flow of the journey, you make yourself more energetically compatible with a multitude of expansive opportunities and experiences, which can reveal to you just how many possibilities are available to you.
TAURUS, this may be a time in which you’re releasing beliefs that have held you in cyclic patterns. Perhaps certain self-perceptions or ideologies have allowed you to turn a blind eye to certain shadow qualities about yourself, and this full moon is highlighting the necessity for you to see the truth, even if that truth may not be comfortable to look at. This may be facilitated by a conversation that arises, prompting you to look inward and identify how you’ve unconsciously rejected your authority over your actions and self. While some of these realizations may not be entirely pleasant to come to terms with, they provide you with the space to self-reflect and adopt a new approach to how you self-develop and pursue fulfillment. As an example, this moon may highlight how you’ve unintentionally used spiritual bypassing to avoid doing inner work relating to mental health and healing from unhealthy patterns. This moon reminds you that the truth will set you free and heal you, no matter what that truth reveals itself to be.
GEMINI, there may be beliefs about love, devotion, partnership, or sacrifice that are being brought into your awareness for reconsideration, or perhaps your relationship with growth and movement into the unknown is reaching another point of maturity. This may be a time in which you’re being guided to celebrate your co-creative relationship with the universe, trusting that it will meet your actions and honor your energetic frequency by matching it in its own unique ways. Perhaps you’re also releasing the need to be perceived in a certain way, which is challenging you to step out of your comfort zone and be witnessed by a larger community of people. You may be finding yourself guided to release beliefs or connections that are holding you in restriction at this time, as you are perhaps recognizing that for you to expand into the frequencies of abundance that you desire, you cannot keep surrounding yourself with mentalities that promote distrust in the intuitive and instinctual body.
CANCER, this may be a time in which you’re observing your lifestyle, daily rituals, and approach to work from a higher perspective, and through that broader point of view, you might glean insights on how you have unintentionally restricted yourself from curating a healthy and balanced lifestyle by believing yours is supposed to look a certain way. This is likely infusing you with a desire for more freedom, which may mean that you will be preparing to release yourself from certain responsibilities and commitments to make room for more spontaneity. You’re also reminded through this lunation that you are the force that defines the rules, parameters, and limitations of what you are capable of accomplishing, meaning that this could be a valuable time for you to reflect upon how you have held yourself back by trying to maintain a feeling of safety within yourself. This moon initiates you into a year-long period that will advocate for more intuitive movement; make decisions based on your inner knowing rather than clinging to the tangible facts and evidence!
LEO, this is an opportunity for you to release your attachment to how you think things should be and to make space for them to be as they are, whether that pertains to a romantic situation, your personal expression, or how others perceive you. This may be an important time for you to demonstrate faith in the universal forces and grander plan that you’re not always privy to. This may also be a celebration of sorts for you; maybe you are embracing your authentic self in a new way and are making yourself more visible in some capacity by either becoming more social, altering your personal style, or being more open creatively. If you have been investing in building stronger confidence, this may also present you with opportunities to demonstrate your security and comfort within your individuality. Approach creativity and romance with a lighter hand, and try to make more time for play.
VIRGO, there may be beliefs or ideologies from childhood that you are seeing from a different perspective because of the life experiences you’ve had. This moon highlights how, through time and life experiences, we might feel more and more estranged from the constructs and belief systems that we once found a great sense of safety in as children. There may be a great deal of emotional freedom found through this full moon, as you release foundational pieces of your life, mental domain, or identity that no longer resonate with your inner truth. This may be pointing to harmonious experiences being found in relationships, as you are perhaps allowing your definitions of security, trust, and love to expand and grow. This liberation from outdated beliefs may also be inspiring you to confront a fear of being seen, which may mean that you’re considering expanding into an unfamiliar but inspiring new direction, perhaps relating to community or social media.
LIBRA, this is an opportunity for you to release yourself from analysis paralysis, as you may find yourself in a bit of a mental battle trying to decide what the “right” choice is or what the “truest truth” is. Perhaps you’re considering making decisions regarding matters that could have a lasting impact on or will be prominently intertwined with the future you envision, and the involvement of longevity might be causing you to overthink the decisions sitting in front of you. This moon reminds you that you always have the option to change your mind, to pivot, to shift, meaning that you may find it beneficial to approach decision-making from a less serious state of mind. This may involve you admitting a truth that you’ve been trying to evade acknowledging or having a conversation that you’d otherwise prefer to avoid. This full moon encourages you to allow the truth (your truth) to set you free; doing so may help clear the way in matters that presently feel a bit cloudy.
SCORPIO, this may be an important time for you to release your attachment to forms of security that can feel stabilizing to you, as your attachment to them may be paradoxically holding you back from aligning with more enriching experiences of security. This may be a valuable time for you to observe the beliefs and ideologies that you’ve found a sense of safety in and assess whether they are rooted in attachment or self-trust. Perhaps you’re approaching life with a bit more discipline and drive as of late but are finding that some of your ambition is met with resistance due to self-doubt or fear of the unknown. You may also be realizing that there is a certain type of validation that no one can provide for you but you, which is encouraging you to implement practices that will help you build more trust in yourself and your discernment. This is an important time to remember that inspiration is a compass that always points to your true north—trust it.
SAGITTARIUS, through this full moon, you may be setting yourself free from an internalized belief that you previously didn’t realize was limiting you. This may be by you finally honoring the total and complete truth about a personal desire. You may be freeing yourself from fears of being perceived as you truly are, which may mean that you are showing up in the world in a way that feels more raw and vulnerable, but this may also be the very thing that creates space for you to align with more authentic connections and build stronger confidence within your identity and how you express that through your physical appearance. You may be recognizing how some beliefs have covertly held you back from embracing the mystery of your self-discovery journey and have kept you in an iteration of your identity that no longer resonates with who you are. Embrace your “becoming” process and remember, becoming oneself doesn’t have to look a certain way.
CAPRICORN, there may be a spiritual breakthrough that allows you to approach the unknown with a more surrendered sense of adventure through this lunation. You may be navigating a transitional space or facing feelings that you were not expecting or conscious of, which may mean that this moon is inviting you to loosen your grip on control and sit in a place of curious observation. This may be a time in which you’re being invited to release the timeline that you’ve envisioned for your future and open yourself to other opportunities or different potential pathways that could lead you to the same level of fulfillment that you desire. You may be shedding a layer of your identity that has felt central to who you are for quite some time, and this may be to guide you into a more receptive place so that you can engage in partnership and connection that is able to meet you in a more equal way, instead of you continuing to pick up the slack in interpersonal connections. How can you demonstrate optimism in the future as you navigate unknown spaces?
AQUARIUS, there may be decisions or desires you’re acting on that feel unconventional, and because of that, you may be facing a bit of fear of being judged or misunderstood by the world around you. You are likely entering a season in which you are craving more freedom and are peeling back the layers of your identity that you’ve maintained to protect yourself from exile, even if those layers do not reflect who you authentically know yourself to be. This moon is an invitation for you to let go of control of how others see you and focus more intentionally on the truth that feels most resonant with your heart. Your attempts to achieve a certain outcome in a specific way may actually be delaying you from achieving it. Instead of trying to control how you get to your future, consider how you can demonstrate your trust in the truth that feels most aligned now. It feels right for a reason.
PISCES, this may be a time for you to release attachment to long-term ambitions that you think you desire so that you can open yourself to more expansive and potentially more fulfilling timelines. This could involve your professional life or matters that you associate with success; perhaps you’re being invited to audit the beliefs that are constructing your perception of what success looks like. You may also be asked to trust that, even though your future might not be unfolding in the way that you envisioned or following the timeline that you hoped for, you are still right where you need to be. There may be something more favorable or blessed that you’re being asked to create space for by embracing a more open-minded and adventurous approach to your bigger life ambitions and long-term goals. This may be referencing the relationship between creativity and abundance; perhaps you’re being asked to sink into a more creative energy so that you can interface with the frequency of abundance and freedom from a more fluid place.
