the Venus-Uranus conjunction forms at the degree of finality and mastery
The vibes of this week have already been feeling…weird, right? Maybe you’ve been having a hard time falling asleep at the usual time or have encountered a bit more mental “itchiness.” Things just might feel restless right now. That’s to be expected. Let me explain.
On July 4th, Venus joins Uranus, the lord of Chaos, at the anaretic degree, the 29th degree. I also like to call this degree “the pinnacle” degree, as it symbolizes the highest point of a journey, and in this case, this journey has been in motion for seven years, making this quite a long one indeed. The 29th degree is a Leo degree and tends to have a dramatic flair. It reminds me of the encore of the final night of a musician’s tour or the curtain call of a company’s final performance together. The finality of the performance becomes so real that you want to drink in every last moment and make it your most memorable and wholehearted show yet.
The 29th degree is the final and most complex degree of any sign; it is the culmination of all of the sign’s teachings and is the most layered to examine. Similar to how we get wiser and more complex as we age, so does the expression of a planet as it moves deeper into the degrees of a sign. This union between Venus, the planet of value and beauty, and Uranus, the planet of sudden happenings and evolution, may be guiding us into more evolved perspectives and understandings around romance, money, and attraction, perhaps symbolizing the culmination process of a more mature awareness we’ve adopted, as we recognize that these matters are not as black and white as we previously perceived them to be. However, Uranus is known for throwing us curveballs, meaning that its union with Venus may present us with experiences regarding romance, money, and value that we never would have seen coming. We’ll dig deeper into that further below.
Considering this union is occurring at this significant degree, referring to us reaching the point of no return, we may find that we are encountering feelings of compression or restriction when it comes to the matters that Taurus governs—money, assets, morals and ethics, matters that we value, sensuality, pleasure, and land, to name the big ones. This conjunction is like revealing hidden feelings for your best friend to them on their wedding day—if you don’t say it now, then when will you have the opportunity to again? There’s so much to risk, but so much to gain—whether you choose to speak or hold your tongue, the impact will be irreversible; the relationship will be changed forever.
Uranus has been in Taurus since 2018, and over the past seven years, we have been reminded through a multitude of different experiences, connections, and situations of the importance of detachment from external symbols of security. Uranus has no interest in maintaining your comfort; it is solely invested in your evolution. It pushes you to keep becoming the person it knows you want to be. This planet is the epitome of chaotic neutral—it is neither positive nor negative; it simply acts with evolution in mind. Its activations are not malicious, but they may not land in a pleasant way at all times. Sometimes its influence will be enlivening and refreshing, sometimes it will be wildly uncomfortable, and usually the only reason we encounter discomfort is because we are clinging onto the familiarity of what we know and resisting inevitable change. Uranus can best be navigated and experienced when we radically accept life as it is, no matter what that may involve.
