GEMINI NEW MOON
New narratives for old memories. Answers hidden in the mundane.
2025 NEW MOONS // MAY 26TH THROUGH MAY 29TH
Greetings my loves,
First of all, you’re probably noticing the different formatting here; I have chosen to migrate publishing platforms once again in order to support the numerous creative shifts I’m navigating. I hope you enjoy the more social aspect of my presence here on Substack!
I always love to see the Gemini new moon roll around—maybe I’m biased as Gemini is my natal moon placement—but I always find that under this lunation, my mind is re-ignited with fresh perspectives and I become more aware of all the little secrets that the universe whispers to me through things that may appear monotonous if I hadn’t remembered to look at them with more curiosity.
This new moon has some beautiful support from the bigger energies (primarily Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto), and has its ruling planet Mercury in its domicile (also in Gemini), meaning that we may feel quite mentally ignited, and are also likely feeling inspired to more thoughtfully consider all of the ideas that float through our minds on a daily basis. This moon also interacts with several asteroids that have some interesting mythology behind them; the addition of asteroids makes this moon a bit of a storyteller, which so perfectly fits Gemini’s archetype. Learning about these extra influences will help you with any intention setting under this lunation; you can get the exclusive analysis of this moon (which includes additional planetary influences and asteroid activations!) here. It includes my scripting guide as well!
This new moon may be setting the stage for Uranus’s shift into this sign a bit later this year in July, so you may find it helpful to jot down what ideas are coming to mind, what conversations are being had, and any little sparks of inspiration that you cross paths with in the days surrounding this moon—they may come in handy later. Mercury is the trickster god, meaning that Mercury-influenced lunations and transits are always a bit intertwined with a deviously playful sense of humor. Try not to take life too seriously under this energy, as your doing so may be the very thing that conceals any answers you are trying so meticulously to uncover. I hope you enjoy this spritely energy and can make time to play.
THE BIG PICTURE
This new moon initiates us into the final season of the first quarter of our astrological year, meaning that we are perhaps finding ourselves in a bit of a light reflective period (not retrograde-esque reflection) and are gathering clues from both Aries and Taurus seasons that will help us understand what soil we want to sink our roots into (or what things we even want to plant into that proverbial soil) come Cancer season. Gemini is arguably the lighter-hearted half of the Mercury-ruled signs, as it is the information gatherer. This is where Gemini gets its reputation for knowing a hundred random, unrelated facts or having a multitude of half-developed skills that they will occasionally reawaken when the situation calls for it.
This new moon may be awakening new ideas or refreshing old ones that we’ve shelved for a moment, and due to Mercury’s governance over communication and thought exchange, we may find ourselves participating in some conversations that will illuminate matters that have felt a bit clouded. In popular conversations involving Gemini, we tend to focus on their chatty nature, and that’s not to say they are not talkative beings (you can most definitely see that through my lengthy musings…). However, Gemini is symbolized by the twins, meaning that there is a level of duality to be explored in everything they do. We find wisdom through Gemini when we are able to lean into this, understanding the power of speaking and listening, thinking and feeling.
When the moon is in Gemini, there can be a tendency to instantly resort to the power of the intellect to understand emotion and intuitive sense, which is why Gemini moon people may often grapple with overthinking and anxiety (I know I did for a LONG time). The goal when the moon is in Gemini is to allow emotion to inform us and to allow curiosity to guide us through the nuance of it all. Gemini naturally governs the third house, which is often associated with communication and thought, but it is much more than that. It is the coffee shop you frequent most often. It is the conversation you have with someone in line at the grocery store. It is the song that comes on while you’re driving home from work. It’s the snippet of gossip you heard in passing between two strangers. The third house symbolizes how the familiar environments we are submerged in shape the way we communicate ourselves to others. It represents how our communities, most frequented places, peers, and hometowns are mirrored through how we think, speak, and converse. Gemini naturally represents this concept; their mannerisms, language cadence, personal style, and other such things often reflect how we truly are a mosaic of the people and places we see most often.
Gemini can also symbolize the potential of an idea, and considering Saturn is now in Aries, we may find ourselves considering taking many of our ideas more seriously. This new moon might entail us brainstorming potential investments, conceptualizing new habits, or participating in conversations that may help us piece together matters more concretely and tangibly. Sometimes when we’re looking for answers, we can become so fixated on figuring it out that we can overlook the insight that’s right in front of our faces—the piece that will make everything else make sense. This moon has favorable aspects from Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto—all of which thematically involve bigger ideas relating to longer-term experiences. This moon invites us to innovate the way we approach implementing change and to do so by auditing the small interactions and influences that we encounter on a daily basis that may have a bigger impact on us than we give them credit for.
Sometimes, when we think of new beginnings, we imagine extravagant implementations that we want to be the thing that finally propels us in a different direction, without us running the risk of falling back into old patterns. We might think that the louder our declaration, the more powerfully our words will fall. However, this is not always true. When we are in pursuit of answers, especially when we are growing desperate, we might look outside of ourselves, hoping to hear the booming voice of God or see a sign that is so blatantly obvious we couldn’t miss or misinterpret it. This moon is a love note from the universe, a reminder that every grand success started as an idea that was given the potential to grow into something tangible.
It is also a reminder that we don’t have to worry about finding the answer at all times; we are allowed to not know what we want or where we’re going. We are allowed to experiment and gain understanding of ourselves through trial and error. Some of us may be feeling that we must do something, but we may be confused about what exactly it is we’re supposed to do. And considering Gemini’s symbolism of the twins, we may be struggling to identify what we want to choose or do because we’re being presented with different options, paths, or opportunities. This is why it is so important for us not to gaze too far down one path or the other; trying to find the “right” answer for the long-term future may have us feeling more confused than necessary, compared to if we were to just take one day at a time in this season.
This moon invites us to trust that not having the answer is sometimes the answer for the time being; it does not have to be the end-all, be-all, but it may be all the information we need to know for the experience we are presently in. This is about making decisions with the information we presently have and not trying to make decisions for matters that we don’t have any insight into. Just because the answer is one thing for now doesn’t mean it will be the same answer forever. Consider how you can observe the answers you’ve been given thus far and how you might respond to them from an authentic place. And as for the answers you might still be looking for, trust that they’ll be revealed in due time; your fixating on finding them may be exactly what’s continuing to push them from you. You never know what lies around the corner, but until you round it, you may as well enjoy exploring all the corners of the space you’re presently in.
Wishing you a beautiful new moon. xx

ARIES, there may be a subtle new beginning forming around you, and you might just miss it because of how it blends into your familiar spaces. What might it be? This moon encourages you to pay attention to the subtle ways the world around you might be able to communicate new ideas to you. You might also find that the new opportunities this moon is presenting you will help you to see a past wound in a different light or will help you alchemize a fear through curious investigation. Practice presence in your day-to-day experiences in the days surrounding this moon; there may be insights in conversations, on bulletin boards, and sprinkled throughout your daily errands that piece together valuable ideas.
TAURUS, this moon might be providing you with opportunities to trust your inner sense more so that you can find confidence in how you navigate material matters and moral concepts. This moon may also be teaching you how to accept yourself more unconditionally; perhaps painful or uncomfortable conversations are being had in your close relationships, or a shadow aspect of yourself is being brought to light and needs to be faced. Consider how you can approach such matters from a place of neutrality, as your doing so may be what allows you to center your sense of security in curiosity rather than in knowing. Alternatively, this moon may be inviting you to open yourself to making money in more ways than those that you can conceptualize. This could be a good time to start a side hustle or a social media presence; you never know what could come from trying something new.
GEMINI, your relationship with your body and identity may be evolving through this moon; perhaps you are transmuting previous self-rejection into self-celebration and are grasping how to embrace your unique perspective and life story. This moon may inspire you to embark on a new journey in a learning or teaching field, or you may find that you are reinventing yourself in some way. You may find that you are recycling old rituals and habits, refashioning them into practices that better suit who you are becoming. This moon encourages you to see your potential from a more expansive perspective. What opportunities have you denied yourself because of self-doubt? Consider how you can bet on yourself; the people who succeed most are the ones who give themselves the most opportunities to try.
CANCER, the answer to your question will likely become known to you once you stop consciously looking for it—it is likely sitting in your peripheral view or right under your nose. This is a moon for you to make meaning of things that have perhaps left you wounded in the past; you may be seeing your pain points or cyclic experiences from a different perspective, which is perhaps allowing you to understand their role in your spiritual development. Consider how you can channel pain into creativity or confusion into curiosity. While you may feel a need to reach someplace else, this moon reminds you that you’re right where you need to be. Find the magic in right now; it may inform you on where you’re going if you can pause and listen.
LEO, you may find that something that you previously had to let go of, something that has since decayed, is now being echoed through something new, perhaps involving a dream you’ve had for the future. A new iteration of the thing that has died may be forming together, or a separate thing could be forming that merely reminds you of what once was. This moon may have you becoming more conscious of your potential, which may be filling you with more inspiration to embrace the subtle invitations for evolution that you encounter on a day-to-day basis, some of which may come to you through conversations with close friends or a partner. The exact community you desire to be a part of or the source of inspiration you’re looking for may not exist yet; perhaps you are the one meant to bring it into existence.
VIRGO, you might be changing your plans for the future under this new moon, or perhaps you’re finding yourself splitting your time to invest in a couple of different ventures at once. This may involve you finally accepting that there is a change that needs to be made in your daily rituals; perhaps you are being more realistic about your lifestyle and are re-organizing your efforts to make changes that will ultimately accelerate you toward the goals you’re trying to achieve, even if the shifts are not entirely comfortable to implement. This moon invites you to be more innovative in your thinking patterns—what thoughts about the future have you become stuck in? Consider how you might open yourself to all potential timelines, not just the ones you are immediately aware of.
LIBRA, this moon might be presenting you with a new adventure, which may involve you considering making a financial investment that you previously passed on. This could also involve you celebrating a new opportunity that you previously shied away from because of a lack of belief in yourself. The opportunity of this moon may be as simple as you going after something you’ve wanted to pursue but have not had the courage to. You will never learn the answer until you ask the question; consider how you might create the opportunity for yourself to glean more insight about matters that confuse you still. This may involve you investing in yourself in some way or perhaps posing a question to a close friend or romantic partner. Whatever the case, this moon encourages you to take hold of your narrative by being the one to act, rather than waiting for someone or something else to initiate.
SCORPIO, you may be learning to transmute shame, pain, and self-rejection through this moon; perhaps you are understanding yourself in a new way, as this moon points to you approaching heavy matters and your shadow self with more curiosity and less investigativeness. You may be gaining clarity around some of the cycles that have repeated throughout your family lineage and are perhaps seeing how you can break them. This moon may also be posing you a new opportunity, but it might be disguised as a loss; perhaps you will be making an investment that will allow your home life or family to transform in some way. This investment may also shift your approach to work or demand a change in your lifestyle. Whatever the case, this moon supports you to embrace all that is changing in your life, regardless of how it may appear on the surface.
SAGITTARIUS, you may be gaining new perspective on something that once deeply perplexed you; perhaps you are understanding a fear that you once avoided facing because of its exaggerated appearance—this moon might be revealing its true nature, which is likely much less intimidating than it previously appeared. This may involve you committing to something, whether that’s an idea or a person. Perhaps you’re making a decision that will lock you into a long-term agreement. This may not involve any paperwork being signed or any physical investment quite yet; you may merely be making your decision to proceed. Whatever is percolating, you may find that some of the ideas, inspirations, and conversations you’re having now will later turn into something more concrete, tangible, and significant pieces of your life.
CAPRICORN, you may be splitting your time between two different work matters at present, as you may be considering how you can expand your streams of income to ultimately gift you more time to invest in other passions. As we go about our daily rituals, we can sometimes forget to notice the magic in the things that are most familiar to us. Your habitual practices may be holding innovative insights; if you can approach them with a more playful mentality, you may discover answers to questions you’ve been mulling over for quite some time. This moon asks you to be open to something being able to be done in more ways than the one that you know; it might be time for you to embrace a bit more improvisation in your daily happenings.
AQUARIUS, you might have a breath of inspiration reigniting your creative or romantic spark, and this may be occurring because of you centering back into the present moment, rather than looking too far into the future. Rather than considering what will happen, how others might respond, or how you (or your creations) might be perceived, you are likely finding a lighter approach to self-expression, which is allowing you to move and create from a more authentic place. This may have a favorable, indirect impact on your professional life and long-term desires. You might find that shifting your attention back to yourself and returning to the small pleasures that are hidden in your day-to-day movements is what helps turbulent matters sort themselves out.
PISCES, there may be a new idea that is delicately forming in the private corners of your mind; you might be contemplating different streams of income that could allow you more freedom over your schedule, or perhaps you are considering starting some type of side hustle. The foundations of your life may be in a renewal process in some way; perhaps you’re refreshing your most frequented spaces to make them more inspiring. You may even find something while cleaning your home (maybe an old notebook or a random note) that will spark you to try something new, perhaps something that you’ve previously wanted to pursue but have felt a bit resistant toward. Consider how you can curate your home into a place that promotes more curiosity.
