ARIES FULL MOON
Feeling without reacting. Accountability unearthing shame.
2025 FULL MOONS // OCTOBER 6TH
Greetings my friends,
Well, I am officially back in tangible reality. Eclipse season was truly beautiful, but it sent me into quite a disorienting place, which was the motive for my unplanned, but much-needed time away from writing. It feels strange coming back into routine; it feels foreign, and I’ve noticed myself facing imposter syndrome, which is weird for me, as that is a feeling I seldom encounter anymore. The past few times I’ve sat down to write a newsletter or record a podcast, I feel a twinge of resistance, which only grows bigger the longer I engage in the task. It feels as if I am impersonating someone who is much more qualified for my job, but I’ve noticed, upon further examination, that the person I feel I am impersonating is pre-eclipse me. What a funny phenomenon.
Whenever I take an unplanned break from writing, upon my return, I also re-encounter my “shame demon” (LOL), which makes it so much harder to reignite my routines. My doing so reminds me that I have to re-enter them because I stopped participating in them, which makes me, ironically, want to run away from them more. Restarting is proof I stopped, and what a terrifying truth that is for the part of me that feels worthless when I am not producing something. The shame looms over my shoulder—it feels like it watches me writing, and it will only leave when I’ve completed something. Ahhh, the process of detangling one’s worth from their performance is such a tricky process, is it not?
Despite these feelings, which have not felt debilitating but are synonymous with an annoying pebble I can’t seem to shake free from my shoe, I am pushing through. And I feel that these experiences have come into my awareness so that I might use them as examples of what this lunation is here to illuminate in each of our lives. We may be examining how shame restricts us from taking accountability for our actions in a multitude of different ways. This full moon comes together in the sign of Aries, and is ruled by Mars, which is fortunately in one of its favorite signs at the moment, Scorpio. This makes this moon a rather productive one, although we are bound to encounter some fleeting emotional fits that feel less mature than we know ourselves to be. It may point out the areas where we still have some work to do, emotionally speaking. It’s important to remember, as reminded to us by this full moon, that feelings are, one, temporary, and two, not always rational, but neither of those truths should ever invalidate them. However, feelings, when driving our actions, can guide us into some unsavory places, especially if they have not been thoughtfully considered. This moon illuminates the importance of not reacting to emotion, but instead invites us to observe our feelings, especially those that may show up in very big ways, to ponder what they might be pointing to deeper within us.
This moon urges us to be accountable for ourselves and our actions, even if feeling has us wanting to act differently in the heat of its expression. Whether this pertains to your daily routines and rituals, the way you conduct yourself with other individuals, your emotional healing process, or something else, I encourage you to sit in a place of observation, noticing both the feeling and the intensity that it is expressing at; in doing so you might glean some clarity around what is still clouding your vision or blocking your way and withholding you from feeling like you’re making tangible progress toward your desires.
Payment Plans + Discount Codes Now Available!
Before I move into the big-picture conversation of this lunation, I first want to share a couple of updates and announcements regarding my booking site.
First, I’ve upgraded my StanStore to their Pro version (it was long overdue), meaning that I am now able to include discount codes and payment plans on my sessions and offerings! The members of my exclusive community (which you can join here; it’s only $6/month) now get 10% off all 1:1 sessions. There will be a special code for members to redeem this, which will be updated monthly, so if you are a member, be sure to check the latest exclusive post to find the updated code. :)
Secondly, we are now in the final quarter of the calendar year, and interestingly, this quarter will feel much different than the past six months have felt, as we’re going to see some of the slower-moving planets regress back into their previous signs, meaning that this next season is going to require a different plan of action to work with the planets favorably. If you are interested in meeting with me to discuss your quarter, you can book a “Quarter Ahead” session here!
And lastly, if you want to start thinking about what 2026 looks like (I know it’s still a little bit away, but time, at least for me, has been FLYING by), I have opened up a handful of slots for Year Ahead sessions. I have significantly changed my pricing for the year and quarter-ahead sessions, and that is not done without careful thought and intention. The following description is not a nervous explanation of my prices but rather a friendly breakdown of the value you’ll receive through these sessions, as I recognize that, for many, my sessions are a significant investment, financially speaking.
Both sessions come with a comprehensive set of “moon notes,” which are specifically composed to discuss your chart’s planetary activations in addition to the new or full moon of each astrological season. Each moon note includes predictions, suggested practices, and a bit of insight into how you may be feeling and what you may be focusing on. These notes take me a significant amount of time to put together accurately, so you are not just paying for the time that we spend together in the video call but also the time and labor required to curate your lunar conversations for the quarter or year.
In both the quarter and year ahead sessions, I discuss the major transits and planetary activations that will interact with your chart, planetary returns, and natal themes, explaining how they may thematically and tangibly show up in your life. For the year ahead session, I also consult the profection year(s) you are in/will be in. These sessions are constructed thoughtfully so that you will move into your next season or year feeling empowered and supported.
That said, I have made the year-ahead sessions available through a six-month payment plan. For unique circumstances or special accommodations, please send me an email to aspen@17-degrees.com. I would love to see what I can do to provide you with support for your next year.
Anyway, let’s discuss this moon.
THE BIG PICTURE
There is an interesting tone to this full moon, considering the heavy Mars energy that is present. Mars is in rulership in Scorpio, but considering it governs this full moon, I think there will be many secret feelings that are bubbling beneath the surface during this full moon’s formation but also extending into the remainder of Libra season. On the one hand, we may be feeling vengeful and irritable, as our attention is, yet again, redirected to wounds that have perhaps been left unresolved and are starting to bleed into and affect other areas of life in less favorable ways. On the other hand, we may find ourselves determined to overcome patterns that leave us exhausted and empty as we are growing tired of their perpetuation (less eloquently, we might be getting tired of our own bullshit). This moon is the first to form after eclipse season, but it is also the first lunation on the Aries-Libra axis to be uninvolved with eclipse or nodal themes. There may be pieces from the Aries-Libra eclipses (which happened between July 2023 and March 2025) that will feel interwoven into present experiences, especially in the wake of this full moon’s formation. But they will likely present themselves to us through release in some way, so perhaps there will be some epiphanies or breakthroughs around identity, autonomy, authority, and influence following this moon’s formation. That’s more so something I wanted to make as a side note for those who are curious to examine it further for themselves, but it’s not really involved with the main message of this moon, in my humble opinion.
This moon is about feeling our feelings in their most organic form, which may be unbecoming, animalistic, and loud. The fire signs need no practical reason to act, which means that all of their movement is driven by inspiration and raw passion—the desire to do. This can sometimes mean that the fire signs will act without thinking, and while this moon is about releasing feelings that have perhaps been causing us pain in our attempts to consolidate them, it also encourages us to proceed with caution. Mars in Scorpio doesn’t mind waiting, in comparison to the other Mars-ruled sign, Aries, which lacks patience. Aries believes it can win the competition through sheer power and force, that it can outmuscle whoever it is pinned against. But Scorpio is aware of its weaknesses. It is aware that strength is not always the quality that will bring victory. And so, it is more observant, calculated, and quiet. It does not reveal its hand until it goes all in, when there is no question of whether or not it will win. With that in mind, this moon does not discourage the expression of emotion, no matter how explosive it may be, but it urges us to direct it into spaces that won’t result in any additional wounds to ourselves or others, or any collateral damage.
Through this moon, we are likely being shown ample examples of Mars’s presence in our lives and the manifestation of Aries and Scorpio’s energies. And so one of this moon’s major invitations is for us to balance our aggression with conscious movement, thinking of the long game instead of the instant gratification we may get from quick but substanceless conquerings.
This current energetic climate may have us projecting a kind and agreeable face, but beneath the surface, there is likely something we are brooding over, which may have us encountering bitterness and unresolved feelings that we thought we were done processing. It would be unsurprising to me if I learned that you are trying to assess the best way to approach a layered issue with someone but, in the meantime, are acting like everything is fine, which is perhaps only agitating the issue further. These feelings may be directed toward a maternal or nurturing figure, a feminine being, or, on a broader, more conceptual scale, femininity or nurturing as it exists in your life.
There may be an immature element of ourselves that comes up through this moon—perhaps it is the angry spirit of the past self that felt unprotected—and if left unattended, we may find that it unnecessarily damages relationships that could have been strengthened by us revealing our frustration in a more intentional and composed way. There is a reminder through this moon that holding onto bitterness or anger toward someone, allowing it to accumulate so that, one day, you may unleash it upon them, will, in the meantime, slowly poison you. What is that worth? Does the reward outweigh the cost? If you’re not careful, your desire to punish someone else might end up causing you more harm than the thing you want to punish them for ever did.
So how do we channel these emotions in productive ways? That is for you to decide. Through this moon, we must figure out what to do with our anger, resentment, rage, and bitterness, but packaging it up and stowing it away is not a viable option. Perhaps we will release it through a letter that we will never send, or imagine it being carried out of our bodies through our sweat as we run for an unplanned number of miles. There is no “right” way to go about releasing intense emotion; in fact, this moon advises that we listen to the primal voice within so that we can effectively diffuse the static that is distorting the path forward. Through this, we’re encouraged to remember that releasing emotion that is related to the ways that others have hurt us is not us “letting them off the hook” or dismissing the impact of their actions. It is us setting ourselves free from the resentment we have become subservient to.
On the opposite side of this, this moon invites us to examine how we have harmed others and asks us to identify what sacrifices we are willing to make in order to preserve our relationships. This moon does not ask for extreme movement from one side of the spectrum to the other, as Aries is often inclined to think in the face of correction. Sometimes we, ingenuinely, swing to the other side of the spectrum to make a point—a spiteful one, but a point nonetheless. This is what this moon advises against, despite our exaggerated feelings that may be probing us to make a scene. When Mars is in Scorpio, we are encouraged to think carefully about the repercussions of our actions, not only in the immediate future, but also years down the road. To speak in the language of Mars, you cannot take the bullet back once the trigger has been pulled, so you must aim carefully. While this is a valuable time for us to let go of anger or resentment that may be preventing us from doing the very thing that we are hoping to accomplish (heal, progress, overcome, etc.), it is an equally important time for us to measure the weight of our actions and take accountability where necessary.
This moon points out that everyone will hold the gun at one point or another; we cannot always escape scenarios that will leave someone hurt. And if you think you are exempt, your time will come. I don’t say that as a threat—it is a part of the spiritual evolution process. We are often shown the other side of things to present us with a more whole and complete understanding of them. Sometimes harm is a malicious act, but in other cases, it is merely a result of the truth. And the pain that follows is indifferent to the means through which it was born. It’s there, and it hurts. This moon asks us to acknowledge the harm we have caused, whether we intended to or not. It encourages us to forgive ourselves in the ways that we may struggle to forgive others. But if we choose to make reparations with others under this energy, if we are granted the gift of the opportunity to do so, we are reminded that explaining the reason we’ve caused harm is unimportant. Accountability without explanation or excuse will reward us in the days and weeks following this moon.
Under this lunation, we’re examining what it means to hurt and be hurt, meaning that we are likely examining how both have manifested in our lived experiences. But this moon does not wish for us to wallow in this examination process; it asks us, “What will you do now? How do you choose to respond?” While many of us might initially feel like the wound will finally be healed—the final crack will seal—when we’ve received a 10-page apology letter or, inversely, when we’ve stood on our soapbox and everyone understands why we acted in the ways we did, which is why we didn’t mean to hurt them, it probably won’t. We will always want more, because, like it or not, healing is not a one-and-done process. So whether you are grappling with forgiving someone else or yourself, this moon urges you to find healing through what comes next, which is how you choose to respond. The level of peace you might be looking for in others’ understanding, forgiveness, or acceptance is really only something you can provide for yourself. So this moon asks us to feel our feelings as they come, and if you need to scream “FUCK YOU” or “I’M SORRY” into your pillow in order to feel different, then there’s no fault in that. But, to put it bluntly, this moon tells us to stop looking for permission from others to feel how we want to feel.
Whatever you are emotionally processing through this moon, whether it is forgiveness for a wrongdoing or freedom from pain that you didn’t ask for, I hope you have the courage to look at it in its entirety so that you can feel more sovereign over how you proceed. Shame and discomfort can often restrict us from looking the thing square in the face, which interestingly is often what resubmits us into the cycle of being harmed, causing harm, or sitting on both sides simultaneously. We will dive deeper into the conversation of shame as we draw closer to Scorpio season, but in the meantime, I wish you well and hope that you are enjoying the changing of the seasons.
‘Til next time. Happy Full Moon.
xx, Aspen
Note: Check your rising sign for primary messages; moon and sun signs can be consulted for additional insights.
ARIES, sometimes there are things that need to be said, ideas that need to be shared, that will not always land well, but that does not lessen the importance of putting them out there. This moon might have you either delivering an uncomfortable truth to someone else or facing one of your own, which will likely guide an evolution process that has felt stuck. This process may involve you accepting yourself entirely (flaws and all) or being more honest with others, even if that results in you being seen as the “bad guy” for a period of time. If you are sharing a painful truth with someone, this moon urges you to also practice acknowledging the shadow within you; perhaps that will be guided by someone else’s observation of you or will merely be an inner reflection. Regardless, this moon is a time for you to set yourself free in some way, but in your doing so, it asks you to have the courage to stand by your actions, meaning that it advises you to be conscious in your movements so that if they circle back around to you, you won’t encounter otherwise avoidable interference. In some way, this moon may feel like a shame ritual that you are strangely finding healing through. Being seen, even in a negative light, can be a beneficial way to practice self-acceptance.
TAURUS, even if it is unintentional, we are bound to hurt others or ourselves at some point in our lives. This moon urges you to consider how you have been blind to the harm you have inflicted upon yourself or others, perhaps because of unresolved trauma that has continued to operate through your subconscious. You may be acknowledging how you have gotten in your own way by trying to evade truths that are rather uncomfortable or painful to face in their entirety, but this is an important time for you to be courageous and face them, as you are likely accepting that facing them is the only way to finally break free from their grasp. Partners or close loved ones may bring things to your awareness, either directly through conversation or indirectly by their authentic expression, that will perhaps initially have you wanting to move in the opposite direction, but you’re encouraged to observe from a non-biased place, as there may be valuable insight to glean from them. The goal for you is not to allow shame to drive your actions under this energy. Taking ownership of your wrongdoings will likely result in rewarding outcomes, even though you may feel unwilling to claim them initially. This moon encourages you to break free from the control of your subconscious patterns by bravely observing the pain points that tend to submit you back into the cycle.
GEMINI, this moon may be having you examine how you have been unconsciously (or consciously!) looking for something or someone to blame for your dissatisfaction with something that you feel debilitated by. This may be directed toward a maternal figure. This moon points your attention to innovations that may be able to take place in your daily routines, health regimens, and rituals, but it urges you to find peace in what cannot be undone so that you can utilize your energy more effectively in accomplishing the work at hand. This is not to say that any feelings of letdown, betrayal, disappointment, or frustration are invalid, but this moon gently reminds you that continuing to sit in them for longer than it takes to understand and process them is a harmful practice and may be perpetuating any issues you are currently facing. This moon reminds you that prolonging your disappointment over the life that you thought you should have had prevents you from creating the life that you desire. This moon asks you to let go of desires for the future that may no longer be accessible, but it simultaneously encourages you to seek out today’s inspiration so that it can drive you into fulfilling opportunities and make you aware of potentials that hold great promise. This may be a necessary time to step away from people or groups that no longer feel aligned with your authentic identity.
CANCER, for you, this moon is about embracing imperfection and finding solace in not fulfilling others’ expectations of you. This may be a moon in which you feel as if you’re disappointing others, perhaps parents or other close loved ones, by not becoming what they have expected you to be or wished for you to become. This could involve very real expectations, but there is an equal likelihood that these expectations have been constructed by an internal standard for excellence. Perhaps you’re realizing through this moon that you’ve been trying to prove something to yourself, a loved one, or the world. While there may be some initial feelings of disappointment, this moon points to this deconstruction or release process being quite liberating for you, as it provides you with the space to ask yourself what you truly want. You may have a tendency to become so set on fulfilling an objective once you’ve set your sights on it that you will continue to pursue it until it’s completed, even if you lose interest or no longer feel in alignment with it halfway through. This is likely motivated by an internal, rather competitive spirit. This moon reminds you that it’s okay to start over and begin again. It’s okay to no longer want something that you once wanted quite badly. Celebrate what you’ve learned, but don’t resist clearing away things that no longer feel authentically collaborative with who you are and what you need.
LEO, when is the “right” time to act? What is the “right” thing to do? These are questions that you’ve potentially been pondering, as this moon has you examining how self-criticism restricts you from feeling in control of your life’s path and ultimately prevents you from taking real steps toward your dreams. You may observe through this lunation how easily you are able to imagine a big picture, but just how quickly it is smothered by limited faith or a lack of trust in yourself to jump higher. This is a valuable time for you to let your actions speak for you, instead of talking about your plans before they’ve been given the space to become something real. You will be benefitted by thinking bigger through this moon so that you can examine what limiting beliefs or self-sabotaging patterns surface from your doing so. This moon points out that you continue to push the big (maybe intimidating) changes into the ominous “tomorrow,” which is allowing you to feel like you’re in the process of making these changes, even though you are not. You may be living vicariously through your ideations of what you could accomplish, because deep down, you are afraid of what is required from you to make them actually happen. This moon asks you to recognize that YOU are your biggest obstacle and urges you to be more honest with yourself about what you ultimately want. If you want something more, then you have to stop kidding yourself. Take small steps to face your fears.
VIRGO, this moon may especially have you looking for someone or something to blame for the cycles that have played and repeated in your life, especially those of an emotional nature. There is a great opportunity for you to release ancestral patterns that have continued through you, but you must have the courage to acknowledge where you have perpetuated the cycle by acting in similar ways to those who have come before you. This moon asks you to examine how you have been harmful or toxic to yourself or others without punishing, demonizing, or ostracizing yourself in response to what you discover. This full moon may highlight the “devil on your shoulder,” and it’s important to note that all of us have one—no one is exempt. Perhaps you are being given more opportunities to be witnessed by others, emotionally, spiritually, or physically, which may make you feel threatened and instinctively raise your defenses. This moon asks you to lay your weapons down so that you can dissolve the pattern that has repeated that has prevented you from achieving what you truly want—you know how it plays out. For some, this moon may require you to be accountable for wrongdoing, tame your pride, or initiate a healing process that you have been hoping the other party would instigate. There is a beautiful healing process happening through this moon; don’t let the ego disrupt it!
LIBRA, this moon asks you to let go of ego-based relationship patterns that may revolve around you relying upon others for a sense of stability and individuality, rather than identifying how to create those for yourself. There may be a conversation that emerges that will bring up wounds around self-worth or security in your emotional body, but it will be valuable for you to use this as a window into the weak points of your inner foundations. These conversations may be hosted around the topics of romance, creativity, or children, perhaps challenging you to evolve the narratives that you have about one or multiple of these topics. While you may experience rejection or abandonment on a material level during this moon, it will be important for you to think about the deeper elements of these emotional experiences. Upon examining them, you may recognize that these instabilities are upheld by a desire to control things that are not yours to manage (others’ feelings, external circumstances, etc.). This moon intends to help evolve your sense of independence and individuality, which is why relationships with others may be shifted in some way. It will be important for you to observe where you are holding double standards or how you are perhaps being unrealistic in your approach when aiming to harmonize connections with other parties. This moon provides you with space to affirm yourself when others cannot or will not. Hold yourself gently under this energy.
SCORPIO, this moon will likely reveal where your weaknesses are, physically speaking, as it will perhaps push you into a period of rest if you’ve been ignoring your body’s requests for pause. It will be valuable for you to examine what the reality is of matters that are feeling too much to handle or as if they are punishing you. If this is relating to a material responsibility, then this may mean that clarifying your priorities and setting some tasks aside for later will be necessary, but you’ll likely see the benefits once you do and be grateful for it. Alternatively, this moon may be speaking to the consequences of your actions. Perhaps this is an important time for you to reflect on how your actions have led you into unfulfilling spaces so that you can identify how to evade making the same mistake in the future. This is not a time to be critical and aggressive toward yourself, but it is a valuable time to realistically look at your current circumstances, both the “good” and “bad,” and assess what you want to enhance and what you want to diminish. This moon is asking you to observe how you tend to be overly critical in some areas of life while not disciplined enough in others, but the overarching theme is centered around you being more conscious in your navigation of life instead of continuing to allow yourself to default to subconscious programs that are incompatible with who you’re aiming to become. While this may leave you with some insightful takeaways, this moon encourages you to give yourself time to rest and process your realizations, so don’t rush.
SAGITTARIUS, you may find yourself shifting your mentality around romance or creativity, perhaps allowing you to not feel that you must cling so tightly to any expression of either you may encounter in order to keep it in your life. You may be reminded through this moon that there is an abundance of pleasure, inspiration, love, and excitement in the world, all available for you to experience if you soften your attachment to how you think they should come to you. There may be a shift in your psyche that will have an impactful influence over how you approach daily life, although it may be hard to articulate what exactly changed and why it is so monumental. This moon is about releasing yourself from needing to be something—for yourself, someone else, or an imaginary audience you may think is looming above you. You may find that a different example of community or intimacy is allowing you to experience a new side of yourself, one that feels more authentic and free, which may, in turn, unlock a different side of your creative mind. New environments may be helping you to shed an old identity that was based on wounded perceptions of yourself and limiting beliefs. Celebrate your freedom to be something new each day.
CAPRICORN, there may be a significant shift in the foundations of your identity or home life as a result of this moon; any shifts that occur may be initiated by conversations that were previously shelved, coming back around to be unpacked more directly. This moon may symbolize an upheaval happening within you, which may be more visible through your family dynamics, home life, or private matters; perhaps your devotion to embodying a more authentic version of yourself and implementing more boundaries to honor yourself is resulting in disruptions to these areas. You may be sharing unpopular opinions or truths that others are unready to hear, which will require you to release any attachment to being the solution. Some of your relationship dynamics may be destabilized through this moon, but this is not something to be afraid of. You may be accustomed to being the one to stabilize the relationship when friction arises, and because you are no longer assuming that role, you may need to be patient for others to learn how to stabilize themselves. This moon may put you into an uncomfortable place due to the restructuring of the foundations of your life, but you’re encouraged to hold your focus on what the desired objective is, as it cannot be reached unless the foundations you are standing upon are updated to have the capacity to hold your desires.
AQUARIUS, this moon may have you feeling as if time is your enemy, specifically the time that seems to slip through your fingers each day. You may try to approach tomorrow better prepared, yet you fall into the same loops. Similarly, there may be emotional matters that feel incurable, and you’re reminded of your frustration when you encounter them through daily experiences. This moon reminds you that change is not made in one bold sweep but is rather a slow process that becomes more noticeable as time goes on. This moon encourages you to use your desire for change as a source of motivation, rather than one of defeat, and advises you to realistically assess how you might set yourself up for disappointment by expecting too much from yourself in a small window of time. When it comes to conflict with others, this may be an important time to hold your tongue unless you have carefully thought out what you wish to accomplish through conversational means. Writing an angry letter and burning it may be beneficial. Simultaneously, this moon might illuminate ways that you can be more accountable for your use of time and will be a beneficial time for you to ensure that, whatever you do each day, it is something you are consciously choosing instead of unconsciously falling into. Making each choice, no matter the size, more intentional is what will allow you to start feeling more authoritative over your day.
PISCES, this moon urges you to identify how you may be over-identifying with moral ideologies or material objects, which may be preventing you from making decisions that feel intuitive and authentic. You may be looking to others to validate you or give you permission to do or be something. If this relates more to material matters, this moon may involve you surrendering your attachment to finances or material security in some way so that you can make an investment into something that will reward you later. Alternatively, if this feels more connected to morality for you, this may be an important time for you to practice self-acceptance despite the responses you may receive from others. This is an important time for you to remember that sometimes the “right” thing to do is not going to be a clear choice and instead something that has to be felt out. There may be choices that feel “right” to you that would be entirely “wrong” to someone else. If you are facing financial or moral decisions that have you looking at your options, wondering which is better, this moon encourages you to risk being misunderstood if it means you are following the choice that feels more expansive and fulfilling to you. The matters you’re making decisions around may involve creativity or romance. Some of your choices may rebel against ideologies that you once felt quite rooted in—embrace your changeable nature and try not to overcomplicate decisions by taking in many additional opinions.

Great issue, I always enjoy your introductions, the way you put things into words is so playful and fitting!
